Welcome to Northstar.
Doctor Adams is double board certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She graduated with her medical degree from St. George’s University and completed her residency training at Louisiana State University in Kenner.
Prior to studying medicine, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois. After a post-graduate internship in Tanzania, Africa she wished to further explore her interests in public health and humanitarianism. She chose Tulane University for her Master’s of Science in Public Health (MSPH) degree focusing on Tropical Medicine. She spent three months in Sierra Leone for her master’s research.
Dr. Adams also works occasionally in the Emergency Room and is a commissioned officer in the US Air Force Reserves Medical Corps, achieving the rank of Major. In her free time, she volunteers with Love on a Leash as a therapy dog team with her cattledog, Gurl.
